Equipment and Maintenance

Because of our philosophy to keep our customers and employees happy, we maintain an average age of 2 years for tractors and 4 years for trailers. We primarily buy new Freightliner, International, Kenworth and Volvo tractors and new Great Dane, Utility and Wabash Reefer and Van trailers. 98% of our reefers are controlled by Carrier refrigeration with the ability to hold product from –20 to 80 F. Our trailers are 100% air ride equipped, 48’ and 53’ space savers. By keeping up with the latest in technology and safety features, we hope it gives our customers a sense of ease by knowing their product will be safe and secure on some of the best equipment on the road.

MAINTENANCE

We have a unique maintenance program at V&S Midwest Carriers. All of our company owned tractors are maintained by major area dealerships with a worry free maintenance contract we have with each of them. ASE certified master mechanics with the best schooling oversee our trucks for any, and all issues, including the most basic preventative maintenance issues to major overhauls. We also lease a small amount of tractors, branded with company colors, from Penske and McCoy Nationalease.

V&S Midwest Carriers mechanic, Craig Schmidt, performs trailer maintenance in-house at our Kaukauna, WI, facility. Our Kaukauna location has all the amenities needed to perform all trailer repairs. Because of the amount of local customers with drop yards, we also utilize a state of the art road service truck to travel to these yards equipped with the latest technology to make sure our trailers are the safest on the road and our reefers are operating optimally.
